Team
Five people. No junior bench.
Small enough that you will work with the person you hired. Experienced enough that you will not notice the difference from a bank ten times our size.
The name
Fides. Mosaic.
Fides is Latin for trust, and the root of the word fiduciary. A mosaic is what you get when many small pieces are set with enough care that they read as one picture.
Between them they describe the industry we serve. The AEC market is thousands of regional firms, most of them a few dozen people who know their county, their clients, and their soil. Very little of it is large. Almost all of it matters.
Our terms
Four things we hold ourselves to.
You get a principal, not a pitch team
Whoever sits across from you in the first meeting is the one negotiating at eleven at night before signing. We do not hand deals down.
We will tell you not to sell
If the timing is wrong or the firm is not ready, that is the advice, and it costs you nothing. A bad process is worse than no process.
You will understand every number
No model you cannot follow, no structure you cannot explain to your partners in your own words. If it is not clear, that is our failure and we fix it.
We take one side, in writing
Our mandate is named in the engagement letter, and we decline the fee from the other side of your transaction. Every time.
Talk to the person who would run your deal.
Not a business development team. The advisor.
